Princess Cruises Sets 2008 Polynesia Program

Princess Cruises has announced its full 2008 cruise program in French Polynesia, which features a spring season from January through May and a fall schedule from October through December. Cruises will continue aboard the 670-passenger Tahitian Princess on the 10-day itinerary sailing roundtrip from Papeete, and visiting Huahine, Rangiroa, Raiatea, Bora Bora and Moorea. "We've enjoyed good success with our Tahiti-based cruises, and our passengers have been enthusiastic about the islands and the warm welcome from the people of French Polynesia," said Alan Buckelew, president of Princess Cruises. "So we're pleased to return not only for the spring of 2008, but to also announce we will be homeporting Tahitian Princess in Papeete in the fall of 2008 as well."

Princess began roundtrip cruising from Papeete through French Polynesia in 2002, when Tahitian Princess joined the fleet. Since that time, the line has brought over 135,000 passengers to this destination on this ship alone. Other Princess ships also call on French Polynesian ports during transit calls. "We are very pleased that Princess Cruises has fulfilled its five-year obligation to our country," said Maina Sage, French Polynesia's minister of tourism and the environment. "In addition, Princess Cruises has reinforced their commitment to our destination by announcing that our partnership will continue when they return to our waters in the coming years." Between the spring and fall of 2008, Tahitian Princess will reposition north to offer a new "Connoisseur" itinerary in Alaska. Following its first summer season in this destination, the ship will return to French Polynesia. For more information, call 800-PRINCESS or visit http://www.princess.com/.
